How to Play

In each puzzle, there's a mystery word that you're trying to find. Some clue words are provided, and the solution is a word that satisfies all of the clues!

There are two kinds of puzzles with slightly different clues.

Simple Puzzles

In these puzzles, letters in the clues that are also in the mystery word are marked with a ✔ or a .

A letter with a ✔ means that letter shows up in the same position in the mysery word. The letter R is the second letter and C is the fourth.

A letter with a means that letter occurs in the word, but in a different position. P and E are both in the solution, but the second letter is not P!

Putting these two clues together, the solution is

The R and C occur in the same place as inTRACK, and the P and E occur, but in different positions than in SPELL, so PRICE fits both clues

Classic Puzzles

These puzzles are a little trickier! The ✔'s and 's aren't attached to specific letters anymore!

The ✔ means that one letter is in the correct position. Either the solution starts with O, has a second letter U, or ends with T. Suppose the next clue is:

None of these letters are in the solution, otherwise, there'd be some ✔'s and 's. But if there's no O or U, then the first clue tells us the solution ends with T.

The answers will always be common words and there should be a mostly unique solution (depending on your vocabulary!!). If you find a second solution that's a pretty common word, then that's a problem with the puzzle! Please let me know!
